Lanre Fadire

Senior Product Designer · Designing trust-critical systems

Lagos, Nigeria · lanre35@gmail.com · LinkedIn

Summary

I design the systems that institutions, professionals and regulators rely on when the cost of getting it wrong is real: seven-plus years across financial infrastructure, scientific publishing, public-service software and AI-assisted decision tools. In high-stakes work the interface is where trust is won or lost, so my discipline is to surface signal instead of noise, support expert judgment instead of overriding it, and ship accessibility as a default rather than an audit item. Increasingly that work runs across design and code: I direct AI to build working product, maintain component libraries and design tokens in code, and keep Figma as the record of what was decided.

Experience

  1. Summer · Senior Product Designer

Sep 2022 – Present · New York, remote

US education-benefits platform for student-loan management and college-cost navigation.

    • Lead product design for the platform, and was its sole designer for most of that time. Borrowers on Summer are projected to save over $2.2B in student-loan repayments across 300,000+ users.
    • Designed the work behind Summer's partnership with New York City, the largest municipal student-loan benefits program of its kind in the country.
    • Originated and lead Mosaic, the accessibility-first design system that three product teams ship on, with semantic tokens, a Storybook library maintained with AI assistance, and an AI-assisted, flag-gated migration of the live product.
    • Brought core flows toward WCAG 2.2 AA and Section 508, with new offerings shipping accessible by default and the broader platform migrating progressively.
    • Designed and launched College Savings Planner, Tuition Reimbursement and Retirement Match, widening the product offering and supporting client retention.
  2. Morressier · Senior Product Designer · Founding Designer, Research Integrity product

    Aug 2021 – Mar 2025 · Berlin, remote

Scientific-publishing platform trusted by research societies.

    • Founding designer for the Research Integrity product, which gives publishers tools to detect and act on misconduct before it enters the scientific record, securing key clients including ASCPT and the SAE.
    • The product was central to a $16.5M Series B and contributed to the company's acquisition by Molecular Connections. ALPSP Innovation Award finalist, 2024.
    • Transformed the Integrity Manager from passive detection into interactive investigation tooling, so publishers could resolve misconduct cases with confidence rather than work through a raw signal list.
    • Redesigned and expanded the Proceedings Manager into a full conference platform, reducing publication processing time by about 30 percent and publication errors by roughly 25 percent.
    • Maintained and extended the Storybook component library with AI assistance, keeping shipped components aligned with design intent across the platform.
  3. Software Business Solutions Consulting (SBSC) · Product Designer

    Jun 2020 – Aug 2021 · Lagos

Enterprise and government software for Nigeria's financial infrastructure.

    • Designed a bespoke CRM for the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS) that lifted lead-to-deal conversions by about 14 percent.
    • Delivered Source to Settle, a procurement platform for Keystone Bank, streamlining processes across all 154 branches.
  4. SystemSpecs · Design and Product Marketing Associate

    Nov 2018 – Jun 2020 · Lagos

Indigenous fintech in payments and human-capital management.

    • Early work on payment and financial products, the foundation of a career in regulated environments.
    • Redesigned new-hire onboarding and led rebranding work, including logo and visual assets.

Products and independent builds

  1. Ophy AI · Product Lead

    2024

AI career-assistance platform. I led product design; engineering and AI systems were run by my engineering counterpart.

    • Built the product from zero, live across 17 countries and monetised within the first six months across three subscription tiers.
    • Designed the onboarding that carries a 95 percent completion rate.
    • Positioned the product around the authenticity gap: human-sounding work a candidate can actually own, where competitors optimise for keyword density.
  2. Dreven · Product design and direction

    2025

AI-assisted accessibility auditing for web products.

    • Directed the build of a multi-stage audit pipeline on Playwright and axe-core that crawls live products, tests against WCAG 2.2 AA, detects recurring design-system failure patterns, and generates VPAT and ACR documentation.
    • Designed a reviewer workflow that keeps a human accountable for every finding: Dreven gathers the evidence, the reviewer signs off the report.
  3. Velstand Studio · Product design and direction

    2025

Website and SEO studio for senior living, home care and IDD providers in Texas.

    • Built a semantic token layer over open-source design systems such as shadcn and Chakra, so each client gets a distinct brand from a shared, accessible foundation.

Advisory and selected engagements

  1. Remllo · Product and Design Advisor

    2025

    AI-native compliance platform.

    • Advising the CEO and team on the two problems that decide whether a compliance tool gets used or ignored: information design that surfaces patterns an analyst can act on, and workflow design that carries a user from finding a signal to resolving it.
  2. Intaglio · Product Designer

    2023

    Worldwide dental-mentoring marketplace.

    • Delivered the complete platform design in a single month, from concept to handoff. The platform has since onboarded 100+ mentors globally in a £285M dental-education market.

How I work with AI

AI is part of every current engagement, not reserved for AI products. I rapid-prototype with Claude across design and code, standing up lightweight design systems inside each prototype so concepts are tested against real components rather than static mocks. I run changes locally, open pull requests and maintain Storybook libraries alongside engineering teams, and have shipped my own products to production the same way. Final concepts are written back to Figma, so every engagement keeps a record of what was actually decided.
